Scratching

I have a cat who from a kitten liked scratching posts. She’s the only cat I’ve ever had that has actually used one.
However, she still uses the carpet to scratch on and is ruining it. It’s really upsetting me. We have three scratching posts in the house. She is an outdoor cat. I shout ‘no’ at her when she does it, but she still does it , particularly when angry or hungry.
I am at my wits end. What can I do?

Do you have any of those cardboard scratchers? Or a sisal mat? Sometimes they like to scratch on a flat surface, rather than a post.
Mine have a post and some cardboard scratchers and they don't scratch the carpets.

Yes sadly there seems to be no answer. I used to clip the claws of a previous cat in exasperation.
