As you may remember, I am on the hunt for a new set of paws to rule my life. I'm looking for a pair as I do work out of the home (rubbish internet) and they will need to keep each other company. I can be out of the house up to 12 hours, but having new cats will give me a reason to pack up on time and bog off home a lot faster.
A local shelter has a bonded pair of voids available. One is 3-4 years old, but the other is only 8 months. My previous cat was 7 when she arrived and her hobby was sleeping between naps. Toys and cat towers were treated with disdain.
I am a little concerned that, even with a friend in the house, the 8 month old will not get enough stimulation. I can leave toys and what have you. A cat flap is being arranged, but she will be in the flat for 6 weeks before that can be unveiled. I am pretty unconcerned about the wallpaper and breakables can be kept in storage till I assess her shelf climbing habits. A minor amount of destruction is expected and will be tolerated (the flat is mine, so no landlord to worry about).
What concerns me is that I will not be enough for her with all that childish energy. I do not want to let her down
I am having a video meeting this afternoon, but I would appreciate any thoughts of the wise Litter Bearers.
I do know the rules, but unfortunately, the computer isn't playing, so won;t post the pic I have. Am I allowed to post the link to the page on the shelter site?
