Should i take him to the vet

My cat has a cut on his leg. It doesn't seem to cause him too.much pain - he's not limping but he obviously doesn't like anyone touching it.

Yesterday it looked like it was healing, but today it looks like it's opened up again- I'm guessing it because he's cleaning it.

Should I take him to the vet or should I just put a cone on him to stop him licking it?

I would bathe it with salt water, pop a cone on and keep him in overnight. Then give the vet a ring in the morning - most vets consult on a Saturday.

This. If it's a bite from another cat it can get infected quickly.

If it was healing but has opened up again, I would definitely take him. It could get infected & they can also give him some pain relief if needed.

Thanks for the advice. Will ring the vet first thing tomorrow. In the meantime he's looking very sorry for himself now with a cone on

He really should have been taken to the vets when the injury happened, so, yes, vets ASAP.
