Advice on food for elderly cat

I'm hoping someone can offer some advice on what food I can try for my elderly (almost 19) cat. Until a week ago she predominantly ate dry food for senior cats, supplemented with chicken, tuna etc every now and again. Last weekend she left her usual food but was obviously hungry so she's had a week of eating chicken, tuna and salmon! We've tried her usual food every couple of days but she just ignores it. There's nothing wrong with her or her appetite.

What is a good wet food to get her to try, ideally one suitable for her age? It's years since she's had wet food so she might turn her nose up at it but she's costing me a fortune this week!

OP This thread might be helpful. Was only reading it myself yesterday.

Hope you get your elderly girl eating well again, TattiePants.

Try nood? It seems quite good quality and our older cat likes it

Hi Life do a complete food for seniors. They make a chicken version as one as the tuna one I linked to there, which latter is possibly the Ballet Cats’ very most favourite food in the world at the moment. They also really like the Rosie’s Farm chicken & salmon trays for senior cats from ZooPlus.

If your girl likes tuna, I’d definitely recommend trying that Hi Life - you can see flakes of actual tuna in the food; & as soon as you open the pouch, it just smells like tuna. Not like catfood, but tuna.

Good luck finding something for her.

Ours really likes the Felix soups, but she also seems to prefer variety as she has got older.
She doesn't eat dry food at all any more.
