Missing cat and seeming unlikely he'll come home

This is a sad time - our cat has gone missing and even though we've done all the possible things for alerts, searches, posters, neighbours, social media, no sightings at all.

I've had older cats (in the past) put to sleep when their time came, and that was dreadful, but this feels almost worse because he is a young cat, and also because we have no way to know for certain what's taken place.

Still hoping of course that he might come home but it's starting to seem more and more unlikely.

SO happy for you @BookWorm45 Grin I know that heart-sinking, devastating feeling when your cat goes missing, and the feeling of elation when/if they return.

A family near me (about half a mile away,) lost their kitty last summer, and they had posters all over the neighbourhood, and posts all over the facebook chat page, and the 2 kids in tears, (and the parents to be honest.) 3 days after he went missing, and 2 days after I first saw he was missing, I found the little sweetie at the back of our shed looking a bit dishevelled and weary, but there he was. The door had been ajar for 2 days, so he must have been sleeping in there!

It was such a lovely, warm, and rewarding feeling calling them to say I had found 'Harry.' The kids squealed with excitement when they saw him. I wouldn't take the £50 reward money, (I didn't do anything to earn it to be fair!) but they did come round the next day with some wine and chocolates. I wasn't going to turn THEM down! Grin
