My 12 year old rescue and my new kitten. The kitten adores the 12 year old and is breathless every time she is near her. Big cat not so much, kitten gets swatted a fair bit.
I was really afraid she would upset the balance of the household but actually I've noticed the big cat copying the kitten and playing more with toys. So I think it works quite well.
