Goodbye my baby boy

I don’t have the right words to say how amazing my boy was. He was a pedigree brown Burmese and nearly 20 years old. We were lucky to have him. My youngest is absolutely devastated as he was her cat after me. He loved to be carried around and was a true lap boy. I nearly laid him to rest a while ago but he seemed to have a new lease of life with our unexpected kittens. Sadly today I found him outside having a fit in his favourite sun spot. I rushed him to the vets but it was to late. I am absolutely heartbroken, he was so very much loved.

What a gorgeous boy ❤

What a shock for you, but at least he went lying in the sun, knowing he was loved.

Purpleknickers · 21/04/2022 20:30

I am so sorry he was truly beautiful xx

AuntieJoyce · 21/04/2022 20:33

Handsome boy. Sorry for your loss. I have an oldie sat purring on me now and it’s hard to think about. I hope your DC is ok 💐

Maydaysoonenough · 21/04/2022 20:34

Oh op so sorry. He looks like a huge puddle of chocolate! What a beauty..

ForeverTeach · 21/04/2022 20:39

Thank you, I wanted to share how much he was loved. I had a minor operation yesterday and then this happened today. I am feeling bloody shit and miserable. I had a nap this afternoon and came down to find him struggling. I can’t get the image out of my head and wished I had come down sooner. My oldest had to drive me to the vets as I wasn’t allowed to drive today and she sobbed all the way there.

He died in his favourite place, cherished to the end. What a lucky cat he was to have a loving family and a happy home. Give yourself time to grieve for him in whatever way you need to. Flowers

It's 2 years since we lost one of our 2 dbs.. We popped his ashes in a box under a lovely shrub in a dcat planter. On the decking where he loved sunbathing.. Got it from The Range.

ForeverTeach · 21/04/2022 20:49

@Maydaysoonenough we opted to have him cremated and put with his brother in the pet cemetery. I’ve just checked on my daughter and she is asleep with his blanket and collar 😭

Meeting his new friend who I think gave him a bit of renewed vigour.

If you have a lone dcat now beware of it getting depressed.. We ended up getting a dkitten..

Flowers They steal a little piece of your heart they do.

So sorry for your loss, what a beautiful and obviously beloved boy 💐

ForeverTeach · 21/04/2022 21:08

We had 2 kittens so they still have each other. I felt terrible about having them as he was so old. But thought if I had 2 they would leave him alone. He actually really liked them though and they would lick him and be with him. I can’t bare to be with them at the moment though. They are not friendly like him and don’t like to be picked up. I am sure I’ll get over that soon enough. Our dog knows something up as she keeps coming to me.

What a handsome boy. Sorry for your loss. At least he was in his favourite place, he was loved, and he went fairly quickly. x

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/04/2022 22:38

It’s very hard, the worlds a dimmer place without them. Nothing you could do though and 20 is an excellent age for a cat.

you just love them so much.

MrsIronfoundersson · 21/04/2022 22:42

So sorry for your loss 💐

PriamFarrl · 21/04/2022 22:43

We had a brown Burmese when I was little. Mum planned to breed from her but she got out and not long after there were kittens.
She was a lovely girl. Burmese have a kind temperament.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/04/2022 23:03

So sorry. Sounds like he didn't suffer and was with people who loved him till the end.

ForeverTeach · 22/04/2022 11:05

Thank you everyone for letting me have this self indulgence.

Feeling miserable today without his usual grumpy meow for food this morning. I know he is a cat but he was as loved as all my animals. My eldest broke me a bit yesterday by saying she doesn’t want pets when she leaves home as it’s too hard when they die.
