Hi

We adopted a cat in the summer. Vet couldn't tell whether she was spayed or not. He said that if she doesn't go on heat then she can't get pregnant 🤷🏻‍♀️ So far she hasn't displayed any signs of being on heat. Btw, she goes outdoors.

Anyways, this morning I saw this blood on my bed (she likes to come in in the morning and lie down at the foot of the bed). Could this be period blood? I couldn't find any injury but then with the fur it's hard to find anything. And she scratched me when I tried to check all her paws....

Cats don't shed uterine lining like us. They come into season but only ovulate when they are mated. This is why they come into season and go off for a short while (if they aren't mated) and then come into season again.
Keep the cat in and use plastic beads in her litter tray (vets sell these) so you can check her urine for blood. She may have a small burst abscess or a torn claw also possibly? Either way, I think seeing a vet with her is best.

That's good advice but I can't really go anywhere now ☹️ I have 2 kids with chickenpox

I'll hve to monitor her and if I see more issues then I'll have to try to sort something out.

If the blood is coming from her vulva she must see a vet - could be a nasty womb infection (pyometra).

I did try to get a bit of tissue and dab on her privates but the tissue was clean 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'll keep a close eye on her
