Stray kitten

I have become the mama of stray kitten.
His eyes are open but he is tiny.
I am feeding kitten formula using a syringe.
He tries very hard to climb out of anything I put him in but struggles to walk on the tiled floor.
He seems to be able to pooh and wee.

Should I be letting him wander around the house?
Any other advice?
I am not in the UK, so suggestions of where to take him may not be helpful l

@marcopront
He's adorable! Lucky youFlowers
I think he's probably looking for a cuddle so he's wriggling around trying to find a warm soft spot. Maybe a blanket that he could cuddle up in?
I'm sure someone more qualified will come along soon with more helpful suggestions. Enjoy him though..you've been especially chosen.

I'd love to see more photos of the little angel cat.
I think I've read on other threads that he needs to be taken to the vet for a check.

He spends most of his time in a box with a warm bottle and tea towels but is currently sitting on my arm.

If you can, see if you can fashion a sort of sling and carry him around the house with you. They do know the difference between just heat and a living body, and your heartbeat will be soothing.

If he's pooing & peeing on his own, he should be at least around 4 weeks old.

SwissCheeseRentedChildren · 16/04/2022 09:43

Aaaw little sweety! 😻

(I have nothing useful to add, but I like the sling idea.)

@thecatneuterer usually has very good advice on threads like this.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/04/2022 15:48

I'm just here to melt and squeeee over him, sorry.Grin. He's delicious.
You seem to be doing everything right and giving him lots of love and care.
That's all you can do really. Congratulations on your new fur baby.

nocoolnamesleft · 16/04/2022 15:56

Definitely needs warm comforting snuggles.

Costacoffeeplease · 16/04/2022 16:27

I’ve hand reared dozens of abandoned kittens and usually keep them in a small dog cage with blankets/heat pads as they sleep a lot of the time. He should be able to take a bottle or start lapping from a shallow dish, syringeing can be dangerous if they aspirate into their lungs.

Has he been wormed and flea treated?

Good luck, he’s a cutie

Check out as many of Kitten Lady's videos and Instagram posts as you can, she is an invaluable kitten resource.

marcopront · 17/04/2022 06:39

Thank you for all the help.
Unfortunately he died in the night.
His eyes were closed when he was found last Tuesday so I assume he was only a few days old.

Oh I am so sorry. Thanks Poor little thing.

Costacoffeeplease · 17/04/2022 09:35

Oh what a shame, unfortunately it happens quite often, but you gave him love and care for his last few days

Bunnybingesoneggs · 17/04/2022 09:36
Sad So sorry op..
Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/04/2022 11:10

Oh shit, no. I'm so sorry. RIP gorgeous baby kitten. Thank you for giving him lots of love and affection in his last few hours

nocoolnamesleft · 17/04/2022 14:13

I am so sorry. But you still did a good thing. The kitten died warm and loved, not cold and wet and abandoned. That has value.

LaQuern · 17/04/2022 15:37

I'm so sorry. At least he knew he was loved in his short life.

Chikapu · 17/04/2022 15:40

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, bless his little heart :(

Plump82 · 17/04/2022 19:07

I'm sorry to read your update.
Do you know of any cats who could have been mum and maybe try and get her neutered?

Pudmyboy · 18/04/2022 12:41

So sorry, but as nocoolnsmesleft so eloquently put it, he was warm and dry and most importantly, lovedFlowers
