What happened when you first let your cat out?

Thinking about letting mine out for the first time. And I am nervous!

What happened when you first let yours out? Did you hover anxiously watching them? How long did they go for? Were they ok?

We don't yet have a cat flap so I am going to be a sideways meerkat for days aren't I?

My boy went out for the first time tonight. Wasn't out long but was incredibly pleased with himself and so excited when he came home! I reckon he thinks he's now a wildcat!
Very proud of himself!

How old did you let your kittens out? Mine are 5 months now and very interested in the outside world, but I’m not sure they are old enough yet.

Not neutered yet either so that is first on the list.
