A cat cave

I am very proud of my cat cave, made by wetfelting on a huge beach ball. It's taken 4 days for Jas the brave to go in. Lucy is not convinced :)

Did you felt it from wool? Could you do one made from cat hair?

sharpsobjects · 12/04/2022 20:49

I adore this.

Yes, it's felted from wool. You could incorporate cat hair since it felts but I'd recommend blending it with wool or you would need a huge amount. I used a 24 inch beach ball and covered it in 5 layers of wool

I am utterly delighted that at least one cat has decided it's good. It took me all day to make and a lot of elbow grease. Little Jas has now fallen asleep inside it 😁

Lucy’s waiting to see if Jas gets eaten by the giant mouth. If it’s ok she’s having it.

Hemskis · 12/04/2022 21:05

I think that's pretty much it. Jas always checks out new stuff first. Lucy did try whacking poor Jas a few times, probably thought it was a whack a mole game :)

Will they both fit in there or do you need to make another one?

Hemskis · 12/04/2022 21:45

They should both fit. Lucy isn't quite as big as she looks, she is just very fluffy and they usually like squishing up together.
