Cat with dandruff?

My cat is 10, I’ve noticed recently that she has a lot of dandruff along her back. She is a bit overweight and I know that can be an issue if she can’t reach to groom herself, I find it difficult to monitor her food intake as I have 3 cats, I put dry food down and they all just take turns at eating 🙈 is there anything I can feed her to try and improve her skin? Or do I need to take her to a vet right away?

I use salmon oil on food for my cats.

I wouldn't even bother going to the vet. We wouldn't go to the gp if we have dandruff!

Is it definitely dandruff, as opposed to flea dander etc? Try brushing her daily before going to the vet, if so.

It’s definitely dandruff, no fleas, thank you

Then I would help her out with daily brushing, just until she regains her slender figure Grin

I always thought cats only got that “dandruff” when their coat was in poor condition, or they were particularly old.

I would look up diet requirements.

My cat had this. She's was an extremely fussy eater, wouldn't touch salmon or salmon oil. I bought a spray from the vet to massage into her coat and keep her skin conditioned. Also managed to get her to eat more wet food because this helps.
