Would you change vets for this?

The vets at my local practice are great. The accountancy, not so much. They have made repeated mistakes with bills for more than a year now, necessitating multiple phone calls every time to my insurer and vet practice to sort it out. To cap it all off, they have now presented me with a bill which I (and my insurer) think is incorrect. When challenged, they can't actually tell me what it's for and are now treating me like I'm a difficult client who is dodging my bills. WWYD? The medical care is good, they are close by and my DCat has a chronic, ongoing condition. But they don't seem to be able to gind their arse with both hands on the finances. DCat's condition is expensive enough as it is. What do you think a/find better practice b/ stay where you are and try and sort it out?

Ask for a proper appointment with the manager and say it is about your account so they can get the paperwork ready for the appointment. You (and the insurer) need to come to some agreement with the vets. If you just go elsewhere they will send debt collectors after you which will be more stressful. Once the final bill has been agreed on and settled then go to a different vet. Have you got all the itemised bills/receipts still?

I've never received any itemised bills!
