My weird cat

I have known cats who dump items in their water bowl. This was a weirdness I was aware of. I presume there's some reason for it. But why does my cat steal the washing up sponge and the dishcloths out of the sink? I keep finding them secreted in corners. I can't even start washing up without him jumping up to the sink trying to filch the cloth. Anybody else's cat do this?

The only way I got him to stop it (not completely) I bought a kitty lake/pond from zoo plus.

We have a cat fountain and he drinks from it. But he's still stealing my sponge and he sits outside the bathroom door so he can immediately race in once you've been to the loo/shower.

Aww how could you suspect them? Absolute angels !

Ours don't steal things but FemaleCat likes elastic bands especially the ones from the Post delivery , and plastic bottle tops .
She walks about with them in her mouth . We have learned to hide them.

MaleCat lies on our bed bonus points if there's my dressing gown, he'll move onto it . Or coathanger . Or underwear .
He doesn't steal them, he just lies on/next to them.

A closed door is an abomination to her and must be opened on her say so .

Our female does the Arthurs Cat Food eatng with the paw trick but only if she goes back to the plate and there are a few scraps there .
She's just toying with it , show the food who's Boss

@70isaLimitNotaTarget

Never close a door on a cat.....you should know the rules 🐱

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/03/2022 21:35

Ludo the doors are all open indoors except DD bedroom ( Female Cat sits outside miaowing r sometimes I budge the door open. Better to incur the wrath of DD than DCat Grin )
She'll barge her way into the bathroom and climbs on the edge or inside the bath .
We really have No Privacy Shock

The Utility has a bi-fold doot which MaleCat pushes open. I did lock them out when they arrived in case they went down the back of the WM ( of course they have done this )

We have some doors closed. In particular the living room where the elderly guinea pigs live. The experiment to see if he was as unbothered by their existence as our last cat did not go well. Maybe when he is less kittenish.

He is remarkably tolerant of the closed door. Although he will try and dash in on occasion to see if he might get a paw on these interesting looking toys.

My 7 month old girl loves hair bobbles and plays fetch with them, I'm not sure this is a normal thing for a cat 🧐😻

ImAvingOops · 29/03/2022 21:52

Mine loves those puffy net body wash things - she steals them out of the shower and I find them all over the house. Along with hair bobbles and the insulating tubing I put on the pipes in the airing cupboard.

I used end up with pockets full of thermometer covers, and would find them all over the house. I discovered that the late Maia was knocking the bin over and retrieving them. I was astounded, as she wasn't overly endowed with brain cells.
