Angus and Little Cat

Bit of a break through this evening. I've often posted about how Angus has been desperate to make friends with Little Cat who we took in about three years ago. She's very feisty and both my gingers were/are terrified of her. We have an uneasy truce in the house now but Angus is the friendliest of my gingers and has been desperately trying to win her over with his good looks for ages.

Well look what happened tonight - is she starting to soften do you think?

He's doing his best. We have a similar situation here with Girlcat. Nemo chirps at her and would happily be friends but the most she'll do is sniff noses with him. At least she doesn't growl.at him the way she does with two of the other boy cats and she bullies the third. She has absolutely no social skills with cats or humans except on her terms.

Well there certainly seems to be a shift in their dynamic but I'm not convinced this is going to result in peace and harmony. Just heard my DS yelling Angus' name and the sound of cats pelting across the landing. Apparently Angus suddenly chased Little Cat. I'm not convinced he was playing but similarly I don't think he would hurt her. May be she gave him a sly swipe and he's had enough. So annoying as I really got my hopes up.

@TheLongRider That describes Little Cat perfectly - no cat social skills whatsoever. To be fair she had to learn to fight very early on when she was about 7 months old and every Tom cat in the neighbourhood was trying to mate with her. She was never left alone poor thing. I swear that has traumatised her.

Poor thing. So pleased that she's got a good home with you. We took in 2 feral kittens . They live in the summer house and are really tame now, but our old cat hates them. I just try to keep them apart and fortunately he sleeps a lot.
