Cat has fallen asleep on my lap

She's a rescue. Got her from CP when she'd had her last litter if kittens, they think she's had at least 3 litters, she was only 2. She's now 4.

She never used to be cuddly but has really changed in the last year and a half. I used to have to get her comfy in a shoe box on the floor and then lift that onto my lap if I wanted a cuddle!

She was getting really cuddly when I was pregnant last year, I spent the third trimester downstairs on the sofa due to severe SPD and no physio available thanks to covid. So we spent a lot of time together, including her crazy hours in the middle of the night where I needed a pee so we'd play after my toilet trip.

Baby came along and she was scared of the baby. Tail was in a U shape but with a Feliway plug in she returned to normal except skittish around baby.

She's now awesome with our baby. So gentle, accepting and understanding. We're teaching baby she must be gentle, she's tried to grab a couple of times, on one or two occasions ending up with a handful of hair, the grabs aren't strong. Cat has been so nonchalant about it like "yeah, and....?" She's heaven sent this kitty!!! She's now getting closer and closer, rubbing up against baby. Baby now goes into full bow down and cuddle anything soft....including attempts to do this with the cat and the cat is almost accepting. I'm supervising 110% and judging the mood of the cat and baby to see if all are up for this socialisation or not. Sometimes it happens sometimes I think nope, cat is asleep, whatever distract and divert.

Anyway it's so lovely and the cat is now asleep in my lap.
