DCat joined our family 3 months ago at 3 months old, so he is now 6 months. We are all besotted with him and he is a dream cat - perfect with his litter box, eats well, never disturbs us up at night, friendly and playful.
He is a ragdoll and we will be keeping him indoors for his own safety and our peace of mind. We are currently building him a catio so he can enjoy being outside when the weather warms up.
He seems contented, but now he is here I can't help wondering if we should have got two kittens or maybe ten . Partly so he has catty company and partly because we just love him so much! But I am worried about upsetting the status quo - he is just so easy and settled and he might hate another cat in the house.
So my question is, if we were to get another kitten, when would be a good age? At 6 months DCat is still a kitten himself, although it is easy to forget because he is already the size of a regular cat. Do they take better to a new kitten when they are still kittens themselves? Or when they are young adults?
I just wish I could ask him if he would like a friend or not!
