Can I put sudocrem on my cat??!

My cat was spayed on Thursday. She is well and happy and the wound has practically healed. But she has licked one particular patch on the skin where she was shaved to the point where it is looking red and sore. If she was a child, I’d slap some sudocrem on her and the issue would be resolved over night. Can I??

No, speak to the vet. The cat would probably lick it and I don't think it should be ingested.

Ring the vet and ask?

I admit to using sudocrem liberally and have used it on the cat before too but it’s likely she’s going to lick that area and the cream so I would probably be a bit wary.

Google say you can in small amounts though!

If its not near the wound it won't do any harm. Maybe a really thin layer. But you need to keep her occupied or a collar on so she can't lick it

The emergency vet told me over the phone to use when the cat was bitten in a fight and it went a bit yuck, and see the normal vet in the morning. So yes you are fine to use it on a cat, but given it’s during the day I would call your vet first to get their opinion.

I stand corrected. I shudder to think of ingesting Suda crem

I've just had my little one spayed and I put her in a post op cat bodysuit I bought off Amazon for a few quid. That prevents any licking as she tried to lick it raw. She looked very cute in it!
