Just so devastated

My precious boy died this morning and I honestly don't know how I will ever get over it. I have no idea why I'm posting I just need some reassurance that I will be happy again. I am well versed with grief but people aren't as understanding when it's an animal and not a person. Already had one person suggest I 'get another one' already 😔 everywhere I look in the house he's there, I can't escape it.

It's so painful to lose a pet OP
Thanks

Snog · 16/02/2022 18:38

They are family members and dearly loved so allow yourself space and time to grieve

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/02/2022 19:02

You learn to live with it but it never goes and you find out who your friends are.

Pudmyboy · 16/02/2022 19:12

Just sending hugs and handhold and Flowers.
You hurt because you loved, still love.

I'm so very sorry to hear your cat has died. It's such an upsetting thing to go through.

When mine have died in the past I admit that I have cried so so much, non-stop for several days. I lost my apetite, couldn't think straight, it's a deep sadness. I missed the constant presence in the house, sometimes even kept thinking I could hear them, or expecting them to come looking for food.

It gets better, slowly, you focus on the happy times and the life they had. But it's so heartbreaking, I know. I'm sending you all my sympathy, and hope you get through these next days and weeks, however long it takes to feel a bit better x

Hugs Op. The grief subsides but you don’t forget that amazing cat you had the privilege of having in your life. I lost my old girl in 2020 and still miss her. I found those that had never had the joy of having an animal in their life were very cold about it. Flowers

It's so sad when a dear pet dies, it really is like losing a friend.
You will have such lovely memories of your dear boy. The grief will subside in time & the memories will shine through. Flowers

Aww, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my boy 3 months ago. The hole he left is huge, but I'm coping. As you will do. You will never forget him, but it does get easier I promise Flowers for you xx

Kittykat93 · 16/02/2022 19:59

Thank you 💝

Cats are amazing and wonderful and losing them is heart breaking. I have literally howled with grief over losing my cat before, in a sudden and horrific way.
It hurts and grieving for them should not be dismissed

Suzi888 · 16/02/2022 20:08

Aww I’m sorry Flowers for your loss. I still miss the cat I had from a young child to the time I started university, she came to a whistle. She was a stray (a proper stray, she had been dumped as she was pregnant) and my mum and dad let me keep her and the kittens. We had her for years, I was devastated when she got sick.

Let yourself grieve, it’ll take time.

TroysMammy · 16/02/2022 21:37

So sorry. I've been there too. It took me just over 3 years until I was ready for another kitty. I'll never forget my previous cats as I have special and different memories of each one of them. Flowers
