My aunt found her cat dead in the road, probably hit by a car. She took it home and buried it and an hour later her cat came in through the cat flap. We never did find out whose cat she buried. They were identical.

This did make me laugh.

When I was 10 we moved house and my sister & I noticed our cat sitting on a neighbours fence about 30 doors down. We called and called her but she just stared at us. We went home to tell our mother.. who was sitting on the sofa with our actual cat on her lap!

Years ago we answered the door to a lady from down the road:

'I've brought your little doggie back!' she beamed ... just as our little doggie bounded up the hall behind us to greet a pal of the same breed and colouring.

Fortunately we knew where the other one lived!

Somewhere, buried deep in my storage, I have a picture of my cat (male and completely black), next to another one which looked exactly like him, both sitting on top of my bins.
It gave me a proper start when I saw them as I thought I was delusional! I then realised they were friends.
The friend never came back after I had my cat PTS.

These stories have been circulating on T'Internet for a few yrs now. I have a short hair medium size black cat. We see his doppelgangers everywhere, but none have come into our home...

Either that or I have had a succession of clones masquerading as my original grumpy old moany floppy cat for last 11 yrs. Possible, I guess.

There is also one about a man who's mate had a black dcat. Had knows him for 4 years and visited regularly. His gasted was totally flabbered when he realised he actually had 4 black dcats! Just though he kept seeing the same one!

Did you get that from a Twitter thread about lost cats stories? It’s quite funny. This is one of my favourites.

Similar but last November my cats were outside and "my cat" appeared over the fence and I got this lovely pic until she jumped up for a scratch and I realized that she had a collar on, my cats don't wear collars as all chipped and have a dislike of collars.
