Rescue kitten food

Hi all, my rescue kitten has been with us for 2 weeks. Before he came to us he was only on dry food (he was rescued in Europe not from UK). He didnt touch the dry food I got him when he arrived (similar to what he had been fed) but instead gobbled up the wet food and we have been giving him a mix of dry (Lily's kitchen) - not eaten that much- and he loves the wet food. He is on Lily's kitchen wet food too and finding his guts and poo (smells quite bad) aren't great. Any advice on trying another food brand - there was no chance to transition from Previous food to new food as couldn't obtain the same brand here? Would prefer grain free if possible - Applaws any good? Thanks any advice would he great.

Our kitten loves Applaws and has no issues with his stomach from eating it. He eats Orijen cat and kitten biscuits too.
How old is your kitten? Was he weaned properly before he came to you?

My rescue kittens have done well on Natures Menu kitten went food and Purina biscuits. It took about 3weeks for dodgy tummies to settle.

Bozita and rosies farm have been fab for our kitten.

I really don't rate Lily's Kitchen (wet). I don't know what it is about the composition but it seems to not keep my cats going for very long between feeds.

For similar flavours, recyclable packaging and easy home delivery The Republic of Cats is very good. It's actually just Purina Gold repackaged and sold cheaper / in bulk. But my cats go crazy for it. They do a cheap trial pack. I don't bother with their kibble because it's far too over priced for dry food. We just have Whiskers Senior. Which I know is generally frowned upon for being cat junk food, but my old boys love it and so what.

By the way, kittens are supposed to have a higher calorie diet than cats aged 18 months and older. Standard cat food is often not enough.

Congrats on your new kitty by the way!xxx

Ah, also, some adult cat food gives kittens loose stool. So adjust to kitten formulas, if you haven't already. Might be what the smell is!xx
