Cat keeps peeing on my daughter!

I have a 13 year old moggy and he's super loving to the point of being needy, he loves any attention.
Increasingly frequently though, he is peeing on my daughter. It started as a very rare occasion but it's probably once every 1-2 months now. He sits on her lap and normally sprays, but once got her with a whole bladder full!
Google says it's him marking his territory but why's he doing it now and how do we stop it?

I'm assuming the cat is neutered. Has anything changed at home? Any new pets? babies? new cats in the garden?

She's 18 & there's been no changes in the home, it's just so strange and he only does it on her!

Might be a musk base that he is reacting to ?

Nope, nothing like that, and it's so random, like every few months or so...

Does your daughter have friends with cats that she comes into contact with? When I come home, my cat sniffs intensively the clothes I’m wearing and then rubs against them - I guess to cover them with her scent. Does your cat pee on your daughter when she has been out that day?

Nope it's completely random, sometimes she's been at school, sometimes she's been home for the last day or so. She does have one friend with cats, we'll have to see if he does it more often when she's been there...

No, and it's been going on for a couple of years

Does he like your dd? my bengal did a wee on my mil's new coat she put over the back of the chair because he didnt like her very much.

Normally when they wee outside the box its infection, scent marking or not liking the litter but it's unusal to single a human out as a mobile tray.
