Hi everyone. 2 senior cats a mum and daughter are arriving with us this week. Very exciting.
I've rescued cats in the past but they have always been outdoor cats. These 2 are indoor cats, their owner sadly died then they got into bad shape and have had eye ops and additional needs due to neglect. Now they are ready for their new home. Hooray.
Any special advice from those of you who have experience of indoor cats??
Obvioously when they arrive I will pay theobligatory photo tarif!!

I had an indoor cat homed from a rescue centred. We were really casual about leaving the door open so she could go if she wanted. She liked to potter about in the garden for a short time and then came in. She had a couple of scraps with the local cats but nothing she couldn’t handle. I was always aware whether she was in or out. Didn’t have a cat flap so she was always called in when door shutting time. She always used an indoor litter. Seemed a nice balance for her.

oh that's nice...we have a garden I think they would enjoy....and a flat roof that looks ideal for a spot of sunbathing!!

Our girls indoor only because I lost my Bengal on the road.

She’s 11/12 and likes food, short play sessions, YouTube videos for cats & sleeping on the fleece.

Having a pair is great from the indoor point of view, as they are likely to keep each other entertained by playing, fighting etc. You just have to make sure you have plenty of different hidey places & perches, and toys for entertainment.

Indoor only cats do need even more attention from their slaves, but as we were put on this earth to care for them I don't see that as a hardship - except the demanding yelling for attention if I'm trying to work Grin!

My girls are indoors. But do enjoy a potter around my garden. They have got out the front before. But quickly decided that they aren't keen on the big wide world.
