Elderly cat seems to be limping

Hi. My cat is at least 15 years old and stopped going outside some time ago. Recently, I've noticed that she's limping but not from any specific leg. I wondered whether she is having joint problems or something like arthritis. She doesn't seem to be in pain and isn't lifting a paw like she might if she had something stuck. Any thoughts?

Can happen with age in my experience with cats or could be a joint issue but only a vet can properly assess and tell you.

Could be arthritis, my boy has it and limps he also washes that paw more than other three. Vet gives him acupuncture when really bad which helps a lot. Hope your wee furry pal not in pain and you find answer and treatment from vet

Thanks for your replies. She's not washing a paw and it does seem non-specific. She just seems like a little old lady. She's a very nervous cat with other people and I know she'd be very stressed going to the vet although I may have to take her. I wondered if there might be anything I can give her myself to help if it is arthritis?

Could always try cod liver oil if you can find a way she'd take it. May just be old age though in which case as long as otherwise fine make her life as stress free as possible

For goodness sake, she needs to go to the vet.

I took her. She flipped her lid and gave him what for Grin He prescribed probiotic powder for the colitis which she loves and which has made a difference already. Also Rheumocam for arthritis. Fingers crossed this will help.
