Whose cat is the most aesthetically challenged?

I know all cats are beautiful in their own way, but nonetheless some hide their beauty better than others.

This is my Ainsley. The photo doesn't give you the full effect as it doesn't show his thin ratty tail, but you get the idea anyway. And if you think he looks rough now you should have seen him when I picked him up - half the weight he is now (not an exaggeration); so matted the mats had formed overlapping scales on his back like a triceratops; and drooling from bad teeth.

Does anyone have an uglier cat?

But he's lovely -- such an appealing expression.
You've obviously done a lot for him, hope he continues to thrive.

Thank you. Yes I think he's lovely in his own way (and he's finally allowing himself to be touched - it's been about 8 months now) and I find his very ugliness cute somehow.

There must be some more ugly cat owners (I need to rephrase that to owners of ugly cats!!) on here though.

The most aesthetically challenged cat I have seen on here is a cat called Cheddar owned by @ToddlerTeaPlease .

I genuinely laughed for days and kept coming back to the thread to laugh more ; it really cheered me up Grin

Ah yes, Persians do seem to have a natural advantage in the jolie laide department.

What about @WilfredWarrior on Instagram?

Bobbybobbins · 22/01/2022 15:38

Ah love these photos. Cats with character!

Turnitupto11 · 22/01/2022 15:40

Here's my lovely boy, normally he's gorgeous, just not always photogenic!

Ainsley is completely adorable. I can tell you if he was on our rescue website he’d be inundated with people wanting to adopt him.

blitzen · 22/01/2022 15:41

Aw, OP. Ainsley is adorable. I would totally have chosen him too! Not ugly in the slightest. Cheddar is gorgeous too.

MyCatzRulz · 22/01/2022 15:47

@Toddlerteaplease thank you Grin Cheddar is gorgeous in a unique way Grin

Galacticat · 22/01/2022 15:49

This is my offering. Her eyes are too close together and she's the size of a 6 month old kitten at 9 years old.

thecatneuterer, I don't know what to say😻 Are you putting him up for adoption?Grin He would fly off the shelf, so to speak.

My Dolly's a little bit mangled. She's got a hump back, a very odd gait from a damaged hip that wasn't detected until too late, and a short, bent tail. She also gets corns on her front paw pads, which I have to remove regularyConfused

FelicityBeedle · 22/01/2022 16:09

He’s secretly very handsome but has constant eye and nose crusts which make him look grotty. I seem to have removed them before every single photo I’ve ever taken of him

Want2beme · 22/01/2022 16:10

She also has very short front legsGrin

thecatneuterer · 22/01/2022 16:10

@Want2beme @Chemenger No, the reason he is 'unadoptable' isn't his looks. As you say some people seem to gravitate towards the ugly ones. It's that he's feral. Well, he's now a feral that has discovered fluffy beds and underfloor heating and so rarely ventures through the cat flap these days, but he still doesn't want to be touched. On a good day I can just about manage it, if I catch him when he's sleepy enough, but that's about it.

FelicityBeedle you are beautiful. Not sure you meant to post one of those photosGrin

Want2beme · 22/01/2022 16:15

thecatneuterer he will be in the best place with you. Does he have any resident friends too aloof for that?

thecatneuterer · 22/01/2022 16:17

@Want2beme Yes he loves them all. All my cats sleep in one big pile usually, and he's generally under there somewhere. He doesn't have a special friend though in the way that some do.

thecatneuterer · 22/01/2022 16:24

@Galacticat Yours is stunningly beautiful - 'eyes too close together' indeed. I call stealth boast Grin
