Safe sofa for leaky elderly cat

I have 2 much loved female 10 year old cats who get on fine...but one of them has started pooing and weeing indoors.... and worst of all recently we've had several episodes in the sofa.

Cat has access to litter (rarely used, but clean and never used by the other cat) and outside ( which both cats seem to prefer) ... I've done all the google research on causes + Took her to vet and thankfully got a clean bill of health
So am now trying to keep her out of sitting room unless under supervision

But

Sofa is ruined and I'm convinced it stinks despite my best efforts to clean.

any ideas on getting stink out of sofa... I've had an estimate of 2k to get it covered in faux leather, so would be cheaper to buy a new one....

Worst case If I went for a new faux leather or leather and if she wees again on it will it be easier to clean or will the wee soak in and be just as smelly as my ruined sofa....
Are those pet covers any good?
