DCat has done something to her nose

As it says in the title! Dcat has a sore looking nose. We lost her brother recently so we’re probably being precious- but when DH googled he got responses from cancer to a nasty skin condition so trying to stay away from Google now!

Forgot to actually ask my question- whoops- it looks almost like threadbare carpet or something. Anyone have an idea what it is- should we be seeing a vet or do We just need to chill out and assume she’s been in a scrape?!

Is it swollen? I can’t really tell from this angle but for now I would guess she’s had a bit of a scrap

I would see how she is, if she is eating and as active as usual as she may have just been stung by a bee or something.

Oh DCat did this very recently - like he has scraped it against something rough. I also googled and saw ‘cancer’ and was terrified, but it turned out to just be a scrape. It did take ages for all the scab to flake away, but now it’s all back to normal.

Go to vet if you’re worried but I thought a reassuring story might help!

Sniffed a car exhaust while it’s hot?

Thanks everyone- I do feel reassured that it’s ok to watch and wait. She’s such a timid thing and we couldn’t handle a cat illness right now! Will see how she goes in the next week- hopefully just a scrape or a curious cat incident!
