Sponge Cat licks me. Is this a good or bad thing?

Is it a sign of affection, or some kind of vitamin defficiency or something. I obs would prefer the first, but yanno.... :)

It’s an absolute sign of affection. Cats groom each other as a sign of affection. My cat licks a place on my hand and then gives it a love bite. 🥰

I take it as a dig. “See, I just lick myself like this and I look cracking all day long, you go in that room and do whatever you do in there and look, if we’re honest here, a bit dowdy”.

I’ve told her it’s just a shit haircut and it will grow out eventually.

Kloppy licks me lovingly, if I try to move my hand away he 'grabs' it with his paws. I always thought he enjoyed the sweat/salt on my skin in the summer but he does it during the winter too.

It's something she's done as she's got older, so I'm hoping she's got more attached to me in her old age. She was a rescue, so we don't know her story.

Bless her. Ivy licks me constantly. On the cheek, on the nose, on the eyebrow... she is a proper love bug!

But yeah she wouldn't definitely eat me if I died alone with her.
