I thought cats moulted in spring time. My cat is moulting everywhere. Do they moult more the older they get ?

Girlcat is just coming to the end of a mahoosive moult, undercoat fluff everywhere. She seems to moult about 4 times a year. But coat is gorgeous, cat is very healthy, so I wouldn't worry unless there's problems with the new coat that comes through.

With indoor heating etc mine moults most of the year - not drastically but a fair bit. Just got to keep on top of the grooming :)

If you notice any excessive licking, bare skin patches or flaking skin, get it checked as could be something else.

I swear our cat drifts hair behind her as she goes, all year round. Every time I sweep the floors I ask her why she is not bald. For a short haired cat she is quite long haired (if that makes sense) and also white, so perhaps it is just more noticeable.

Thanks. I have only had him for about five years. And never had a cat before. He will be 13 next year and just want to make sure I’m not missing anything.
