How to give kittens Milprazon

Hello, I have two 11 week old kittens. The vet has given us Milprazon for them.

How on earth do I do this? I can't find online if I can crush it into food, or is it best to wrap them in a towel and do the throat stroking thing?

Sorry should have said - if giving 'in' food does that mean just hide it whole, or crush it up?

I have 3 cats, and help my nan with her 2 and I have never been able to get them to have tablets in their food, crushed or otherwise. As soon as they sniff it, they go on hunger strike.

I either do the throat rubbing thing. If you press very gently on the sides of their mouth, they’ll open for a few seconds. You have to be quick to get it in and try not to let it go down the side of their tongue.

Or I wrap them in a bit of turkey/chicken slices like a little parcel, so that the tablet isn’t exposed at all. Those meat sticks can also work, to make a little pill tube thing. This can be a bit hit and miss, if they start chewing too much, the notice and spit it out. If tablet is bigger than a sweetener, I cut it in half and do it in 2 goes.

Just read that back, to be clear I wrap the tablet in turkey slices, not the catsGrin

Thank you @PureBlackVoid! Lol I understood.

We did the throat method for first kitten and it took a few attempts but was fine.

Second one just ate it! Amazed.

Thanks so much, relieved it worked and we didn’t faff with the food option.
