When did ur cat start to get old.

Took my cat to the vets as he was over eating. All checked. And all fine.
My cat will be 13 next year.
He is still over eating. But hasn’t put on any of his normal winter weight.

He has really stopped doing very much outside like he used to. And will sometimes sleep all night and then most of the day.
He has jumped up at a few things and missed.

The vet says he is fine. Is this maybe because he is just getting old now? I feel like this winter he has slowed down a huge amount than last year. Sleeping way more. What age did your cat start to get old?

Meant to add he has gone to the ultimate extreme on neediness. He won’t leave me alone. And will follow me and wait for me to sit down before falling asleep on me.
He has also started to sleep on my head on my pillow which he has never done before.

He might just have started to feel the cold - old cats do feel it more. It would explain the failure to put on weight as usual as he's burning it up.

You might want to consider buying a heat pad, so he doesn't use you as a personal hot water bottle 24/7 - ours was about £15 on Amazon and has lasted years. Our girl is now 19 and pretty much lives on it October - March!

Oh yes thanks. And yes that would explain why he hasn’t put on any weight.
