Ragdoll Cat Making herself Sick

I’ve tried to keep this as short as possible!

I have 2 ragdolls who are 8 years old. The female (they are brother and sister) has been sick since she was about a year old and grinds her teeth constantly.

We’ve taken her to numerous vets, there are no visible dental issues and they’ve given various different medication for gastritis and it stopped while she was on the tablets but then straight away she started again. Bloods have come back normal and vets have said she’s not losing weight and seems fine in herself.

Sometimes, she’s not sick for a few months but then it starts again. We’ve also explored hairballs etc but it’s not that. For the last 2 weeks, she’s been sick 1 to 2 times a day/overnight. She’s fine in herself but I just feel like we’re going around in circles with the vets.

She’s VERY needy, if I shut a door while wfh she scratches at the door and doesn’t give up! We’ve also resulted in putting her in a crate overnight as she would grind her teeth and mess around all night! She seems happy in the crate.

I do wonder if this may be something where she’s making herself sick as she grinds her teeth beforehand. Has anyone come across something similar? I love her to bits but I just feel so helpless as no vet can seem to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks Smile

Does she gobble her food?

@AlfonsoTheUnrepentant thanks for taking the time to reply. No, she grazes, we’ve also tried taking her food away for some time and it doesn’t make a difference.

I do think she may have some sensitivity to food but, over the years, we’ve tried a lot of sensitive/prescription foods and it maybe works for a while and then she is sick again.

Hmm. It sounds like you've tried everything I can think of.
