When my cat (aged 9ish) came to me almost a year ago, she had a bald area on her lower belly and thighs. Her fosterer said their vet had said it was stress related from over-grooming, and the hair did start to grow back as she settled down with me, but remained thin.
However, in the last couple of months it has got much worse, extended further up her body and tail, and she has also started scratching and sneezing more. I have a vet visit booked for Monday but have been googling in the meantime, and wonder if it is a dust mite allergy, given that it has got worse since the weather turned and she has been outside less. Plus I am crap at hoovering.
Does anyone have any ideas or experiences? Photo of cat attached.
