Horned claw

Last night I noticed what looks like a horned claw on my little cat’s toe bean. At the moment it looks like the top of a green bean coming out of the pad (I have tried to take photos but it’s like wrestling a furry eel with teeth and claws Grin), it’s soft rather than hard like a true claw. Does anyone have any experience of these? I googled and regretted it when FIV and tumours got mentioned Sad.

My cat had these. I asked the vet about them and she said they are little keratin growths. She pulled them out with tweezers, which seemed to cause no discomfort at all.

It looks like it’s about to fall off to be honest, and she doesn’t seem bothered by it. We have an appointment with the vet tomorrow.

@eurochick my experience with the vet was similar to yours - he just pulled it off and said it’s an overgrowth of skin, no need to worry, that’ll be £50 please Grin

I guess that's a good result of sorts!

My cat had them on every pad in her front paws. I'm glad the vet didn't charge 50 quid each...
