Facebook Pedigree Cat Rehome group disappeared?

I joined this group on FB a while back and keep an eye on the page, been liking posts etc with a view to maybe looking for a cat next year but the page has disappeared! I'm getting a message saying the link might be broken or page closed down. It's the same if I logout and try as well so it's not as if I've been deleted from the page but it's still there. Anyone know what happened? If it's gone are there any other pages that are similar?

Thanks.

No idea. But there are genuine pedigree rescues around. I E had three beautiful Persians from one.

OK thanks I'll see if there's anywhere around. Strawberry looks good but I'm at the other end of the country.

There is St Francis Persian rescue in Yorkshire. That's where I got mine from.

They don't put all the cats on the website. So brat to phone them and enquire.

I think that's maybe still too far, I'm in Scotland sorry! I'll have a look though thanks.

My friend is looking to adopt another Siamese there are none available anywhere. Which is good I suppose.

Echofallen · 06/12/2021 12:02

Yes I was thinking there would be a lot of animals available in shelters after everyone went crazy buying pets last year. A friend had rescue siamese not sure which rescue she went through but it was a siamese specific one.

I was a member of that group too. If you are looking for a (registered) pedigree neuter, could be worth finding local breeders through the kitten ads on Pets4homes. Contacting them and enquiring into future planned spays/neuters. Many breeders work to a program and know in advance when their queens and studs will be finishing duties.

I did such with an oriental breeder locally and we will be having a conversation at the end of January about a lilac girl who is currently nursing her final litter.

Hmm yes thanks I could put feelers out. I'm a bit wary of websites like Pets4homes because of dodgy breeders but I guess I can do some homework and ask questions. I liked that FB group because it was specifically for rehoming adult cats and it seemed like a lot of people knew each other (breeders etc) so could vouch for people being genuine.
