Torovirus

Hi. I'm hoping for a bit of reassurance from our lovely Mumsnetter's.
My cat is a wanderer, I found him on Saturday in someone else's house, he's a regular there. He had been out for 3 days. We brought him home and I noticed his 3rd eyelids were up. Took him immediately to our vet. She wasn't too worried, said possible virus so no treatment, and bring him back in 2weeks.She wormed him. We got home and he has the most awful diarrhoea, and coupled with his eyelids looks really sorry for himself.
I rang the vet today to be told the same. No treatment 2 weeks recovery.
Has anyone come across torovirus, and did it resolve itself. She did say classic symptoms of this virus, but if he got worse to bring him back
Thank you, sorry this is a long post.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about this virus. Sorry, not much help to you. Hope he gets better very soon.

Found this online

Sounds more like Haw’s Syndrome, caused by a torovirus. Symptoms include diarrhoea and the third eyelid problem you mention. Your cat should otherwise be healthy. There’s no effective treatment and the eyelids can take up to six weeks to return to normal
