Pet sitting services

Just wanted to get some opinions on pet sitting services, or advice and experience from anybody who has a business providing these services.

I've been thinking for a little while of setting up a small pet sitting drop in business. I live on a military estate so think these sorts of services will be relatively sought after as people go to visit family etc. Would also advertise the services beyond the military community.

I'd offer drop in services for cats and other small pets, inc reptiles, birds, insects and rodents. Grooming if required, changing bedding, cleaning hutches and cages and also playing with/handling animals.

I have a lot of experience in administering medications, particularly diabetes medication.

What sort of price have people charged for these services? And what prices would pet owners be happy to pay?
Which other considerations do I need to make? Eg insurance, registration, DBS.

Any feedback would be amazing - thanks Smile

I think I pay £15 a visit. My cat sitter does travel
A long way. And stays with them for ages. And she sends me photos.

I pay £9-10 a visit. You would probably want to set up a basic website so that people could find you easily. Are there any existing petsitters in your area?

I do it and charge £8 a visit.

I'll be brutally honest and say I don't make much money from it. The money is in dog walking.

Drop ins maybe make up 5% of my monthly income.

Take a look at websites such as Cat in a Flat, Rover, Bark and Tailster

My cat sitter comes twice a day. For around 30 mins. We pay £6 a visit. I think she's quite cheap. Id be happy to be pay more as she's brilliant and the cats love her.
