Natures Menu Country Hunter discontinued 😰

Country Hunter is the only food all 3 of my cats will agree on, don’t turn their noses up after a week and it works especially for the one with the sensitive tum.

I’ve been struggling to get the multiflavour packs for a while, and the single flavour packs have been dwindling in availability too. The Natures Menu website now only has tinned food for cats now but it’s only the original flavours not CH, which of course my cats refused when they tried it some time ago.

The tins don’t seem to be available in shops yet, so I can’t just pick a few up for them to try, but I am getting more and more nervous as my current stash reduces, and the time will come when the single flavours are also out of stock. My cats are so so picky with food, they turn into little sulky vandals when the deliveries have been delayed and they’ve had to have alternatives. They are definitely not the type to ‘eat what’s out when they are hungry enough’ - except the one with the sensitive tum of course, who will eat anything and the consequences can be direEnvy

Has anyone tried the tins yet, was it a ‘smooth transition’? How successful would a campaign be, to reverse their decision? (only half joking)

"Dire consequences " that made me chuckle Grin

Sorry no idea about nature's menu. Mine has the Natures Variety dry food. But I get what you mean about sensitive tummies. I always sprinkle some probiotic powder on my kitten's food.

In fact that might be a life saver for you. Whenever you try any new food add half a sachet of Fortiflora. That stuff is like crack. Smells good and is definitely good for their tummies. They'll take to the new food straightaway

I don't know about the Country Hunter range but according to their Facebook page the Especially for Cats food in tins is the same as the food they did in the pouches. They are smaller now though as the pouches were 100g and the tins are 85g.

I picked up a pack of the new tins yesterday from Pets Corner and our George are it all up.

Good luck

Hi I have the same problem. I contacted Natures Menu today and they sent this information I haven't looked into it yet, but my cats won't eat the regular natures menu, only country hunter!
Message received from Natures Menu:

Thank you for your email

At present, we don’t have any plans to bring the Country Hunter cat food back in cans. You might like to consider our Natures Variety pouches, which are a similar texture to Country Hunter, details in the attached

@Bee65 sorry I have only just looked at this thread again. That looks like a really good option thanks so much! Kennelgate has them on offer at the moment so I’m going to try a box.

This is awful. My cat can’t eat chicken and this was the only grain free food she has got on with. They didn’t even bother announcing it on their website. Erg

DemocracyofHypocrisy · 27/11/2021 23:14

I’ve bought a box of the Natures Variety linked above, the 2 girls seemed happy enough but boycat, who was Country Hunter’s biggest fan, didn’t seem to get on with it 😥

I’m going to have to try the new tins next and see how we get on
