Remaining cat unsettled

I posted last week about the sudden death of one of my cats, this post is about our other cat.
DCat2 was not friendly with DCat1, they merely tolerated each other and could be frosty if Dcat1 thought DCat2 had stepped out of line. Never snuggled or groomed each other etc.
However Our remaining cat is being very restless and seems nervous to go out into the garden, we've had a poo in a bag incident and she weed on our bed last night, never done either before (well once when there was a foot of snow). DCat1 was in charge of garden and cat flap security and saw off all intruders, it was the only time she moved fast!
She seems unsettled and unhappy despite a felliway plug - in.
How long do you think it will it take for her to calm down?
We've bought a litter tray in the hope she'll use it but she's not used to them.
Obligatory pic of her in more normal times :

Oh she's a beauty, is she a norweigian, or maybe a siberian?

I would've thought it could take a few weeks for her to adjust to the change, especially if she is the sort of cat that likes a routine and to know what to expect each day. Some cats just like life to be predictable.

I'm sorry for the loss of your other dcat x

Just because they didn’t like each other doesn’t mean they won’t mind the other passing away and leaving them alone. Beaphur do a calming spot on my timid girl does well on. Wilko sell it.

Did she see the other cats dead? If not she doesn’t know where it is.

Waterproof mattress covers should be used by all cat owners, they go rogue with no warning.

Our surviving dcat became depressed. Hair pulling and lots of loud wailing.
Off his food.
They were brothers... Just 8.
Rescued a dkitten.
What was a person to do in these circumstances??
Grin
Besties within a fortnight..

My cat was much happier when I got another cat Two weeks after her sister died. I put the new cat down on the floor in her box. And literally saw Magic visibly relax.

Bramble has always been very scared of other cats so I'd hesitate too get another. I did put the other cats body down on the floor for her to investigate but she didn't even sniff it or seem to notice.
Caught her about to pee on the bed again, she seems to do it when we are in it.
I guess I'll just have to give her time.
@GoodVibesHere she is just a plain old Scottish farm moggie, bought for £35 14 years ago but i have contemplated pretending she's a Siberian!

OP, I've got a thread on here about Zylkene (calming for cats) if you want any to try.

Sadly I lost both of my (elderly) cats this year. Zylkene was great for them especially around the blasted firework season.
