Foil as a deterrent?!

So, my cat has her humans well trained Grin I’ve just bought a new cooker which had a glass lid and would like to keep it looking nice for a while!

Cat goes on the counter tops and this includes walking on the cooker, and whilst I obviously know she doesn’t sit there dragging her claws across the glass, the old cooker lid is scratched to some extent.

I’ve got one of those big bamboo boards from Ikea that I’ll pop on the lid, but it won’t cover it all.

I’ve read about using foil on counter tops as cats don’t like the feel of it on their feet. I would just pop a layer either side of the board. Does it work? I guess it’s cat dependent?!

I tried it. The cat jumped straight on it and got comfortable Grin
