Harry's pet insurance

I've just had the renewal through from Petplan for Harry's insurance - £566 a year, £47 a month! This is an increase from £477 last year. To be honest I'm thinking of cancelling and putting the money away each month. He needs regular blood tests but due to the high excesses we'd barely be breaking even.

We have the money put aside for treatment and we've also discussed that we'd be prepared to do for him as we both believe just because you can treat an an animal doesn't mean you should.

I'm just worried I'm doing the wrong thing!

Snorg and Cheddars is £135 a month. Almost all of that is Snorgs. I will stop when it gets to £150 as it's just too much.

Harry's sounds like a bargain!

We buy his kidney medication ourselves as it's so expensive from the vets, and I worked out that his blood tests are about £600 a year and of that we'd have to pay £240 because of the excesses.

It's so hard to know what to do!
