We've had a cat and kittens living in the garden.
Someone brought a trap yesterday and We've caught the kittens but not the mother.
I messaged the trap lady but she hasnt
got back.
I feel terrible that I've ripped them away from their mother.
They're glaring and hissing at me.
I actually already bought them a bed in case they have to stay the night but I daresnt open the cage.
Not sure why I'm posting, I just feel so bad.

They will be terrified. Have you any idea how old they are?

Catstealer · 16/10/2021 18:16

I spoke to someone last Saturday who said at least 4 weeks as the were coming out from behind the shed.
I've seen the mother s lot lately but first saw kittens last Friday.
We've struggled to get someone to rescue them, people were not getting back to me.
It was 3 degrees last night so they needed to be caught.

Can you take them inside and release the into a box, laundry basket etc and then reset the trap for mum? How old are they? Presumably if they got into your trap they are quite old so might take solid food.

Catstealer · 16/10/2021 18:23

Theyve been eating solid food that we've been putting out.
We've brought them inside do you think the mother might just come in.
I haven't really got anywhere where I can leave them all loose

She might but she will try and grab them and run. Do you or anyone have a shed or garage you could setup a nest with blankets etc and leave the door open. It would be warmer than outside.

Catstealer · 16/10/2021 18:34

They kept going behind/under the shed I assume they have a nest there and they've survived this long, buts it's getting colder.
We've lost the key to the shed and it's full of junk.
I just wish the trap lady would reply.

@thecatneuterer are you around?

Flowersintheattic2021 · 16/10/2021 19:09

On Facebook search cat-ching sheffield and ask them. Or ring cat protection. Put water and solids and litter tray in bedroom put cats in their

Catstealer · 16/10/2021 19:20

Local cat protection didn't get back to me, during the week.
They're now loose hiding in conservatory, put oil radiator on to keep it warm.
There's food, kitten milk a soft bed and a blanket .
Do you think I should turn light off, I can leave lounge light on so there will be some light.
Trap reset for mother.
Trap lady coming in the morning from cat rescue charity from next town.
I was just completely panicking.
It was so cold last night and with bon fire night coming up worried about fireworks.
Hopefully catch mother and she can go in with them.

Bloody hell, food gone, no cat.
I think she's to big for it as she was in there this morning and it didn't catch her, I'm sat in garden hoping to entice her in.

Record the kittens squeaks and play them to entice her?

Are there only two kittens?

ButterflyAway · 16/10/2021 19:33

Agree with recording the kittens, is the mum still under the shed? Maybe return the kittens to her and try to block the gaps beneath the shed/ground so it’s both warm and they’re confined?

Catstealer · 16/10/2021 19:35

Only ever seen 2, I recorded their hissing earlier, I'll try that

I don't know where the mum is, I've seen one of the kittens on its own at 10.30pm and also at 6.30 am so I'm not sure if the mum is with them overnight.
