Cattery or home visits

Me and my partner are going to Dubai for 9-10 days over Christmas. Our Persian kitten is 18 weeks old and a sassy little bugger. We can't decide whether to put her in a cattery or have someone visit 2-3 times a day.

She's an indoor kitten and roams around our large flat all day, in the cattery she would be in a small indoor pen.

What would you do? There's benefits to the cattery: safety, leave the heating off, less worry, around more noise etc

Cattery. She's too young to leave alone in the flat even with visits.

My previous cat was chilled and laid back, seemed perfectly happy in the cattery. He was always sat in his bed chilling when I went to collect.

This one, when we went to collect, was backed into a corner meowing her head off so much that she had a faint croaky meow for a couple of days after we brought her home. She had obviously been doing that for the 6 nights we were away. I will never send her again.

I would have to have someone stay and cat sit I mean.

I would go for a house sitter too. Trusted housesitters is good if you don't have any suitable friends or family.

My Persians go to a lovely cattery. One of mine is one of the staffs favourite guest. So they both get absolutely spoilt rotten and really well groomed.

I'm much more relaxed with them in the cattery .

Personally I would go with home visits.

But you may find most cat sitters don't work over the Christmas holidays. I am one and close for two weeks, as do all the others in my area.

Catteries are fine but may already be fully booked.
