Just that x

My cats adore me, which is nice seeing as I'm a fat old lady and no-one else does! 😝

WeAreTheHeroes · 13/10/2021 22:46

Got back from holiday recently. Cat has tried to keep me in sight ever since, went nuts when I came back from the gym and also checked I was still breathing several times during the night by head butting me and sticking her whiskers in my face. She'll think differently when I take her to the v-e-t-'s at the weekend.

Blugh · 13/10/2021 22:48

Definitely my two follow me if I go for a walk with my son. I now also have a dog and they still come with us. Neighbours must think I’m crazy but I can’t stop them. I’ve also moved around a lot and they definitely see me as home more then the actual building we live in.

StCharlotte · 13/10/2021 22:49

What's the opposite of Velcro? I've got two of those at the moment which breaks my heart as all my previous cats have adored me.

Blugh · 13/10/2021 22:51

Oh yeah and I am currently in bed with both the cats and the dog. They refuse to sleep anywhere else. Good job I’m single really

WildFlowerBees · 13/10/2021 22:55

No, she must hate me because she insists on waking me up at stupid o'clock every morning. Never dh, he gets all the love.

CuckooCall · 13/10/2021 23:25

My cat really does love me. I've had her since 4 weeks old, and bottle fed her until she moved onto solids. So I'm basically her mum. She only sits on my lap and she sucks my top whilst kneading me before she settles down for a sleep. She also walks to the local shop with me and sits on a nearby garden wall waiting for me before walking back home with me. She's really the loveliest cat we've ever had.

violetbunny · 14/10/2021 07:52

Yes, they both love me.

Whenever they come in the catflap, they will walk past DP and come to me immediately, meowing until I give them some form of attention. As soon as they see me, their tails go "ping" upwards into the air Grin

Boycat insists on sleeping on me every evening. Will come and find me and howl at me until I let him sit on my lap. The only time he will sit on DP is if I am away.

At night if it's cold, they both completely ignore DP and will both get under the bedcovers with me. Weirdly, they hate sleeping together, so I often wake up in winter sandwiched between two cats (and DP is all on his lonesome on the other side of the bed!)

RedLipClass · 14/10/2021 08:05

Yes I'm sure mine does. She's very affectionate and sucks my clothes when she comes for a cuddle and also cleans my hair for me. If I'm a bit late home from work she sits at the kitchen window waiting to see me come down the street and she always greets me at the door. I live in a tiny flat but she still follows me wherever I go, doing the toilet alone is a distant memory Grin however, she is a wild child and likes to beat me up unprovoked sometimes too, so swings and roundabouts!!

tabulahrasa · 14/10/2021 08:43

She likes me and DS, tolerates DP, is resigned to the dog existing and loves DD.

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 14/10/2021 09:00

This thread is lovely.

Allergictoironing · 14/10/2021 09:21

Girlcat loves what I do for her - feeding, treats, belly rubs when she requests them.

Boycat adores me. Has separation anxiety, will request cuddles before treats, snuggles on the bed every morning & night, stares into my eyes with adoration and not a single other thought. Then again, he IS a cat with very little brain, so using a whole 3 brain cells to love me with has probably taken up the entire capacity.

They tolerate my DSis and nephew no.4, otherwise go and hide from any other human being.

TheCategoryIs · 14/10/2021 09:22

My cat knows to put on a performance to keep the food coming, and likes the occasional cuddle but in the main doesn’t really like human contact. Gets too hot.

The way I know he cares is a) if I were to start crying, he’d come over to see what’s up and b) when I go out he will often follow me and literally wail as I leave the gate (he knows not to follow beyond that).

Cruiser11 · 14/10/2021 22:23

My car loves me, he’s naughty if I have a night out and sits outside the front door waiting for me. My whole family dread me going out because he walks around looking for me and won’t settle.
He stalks me and talks to me all the time, he does I love you eyes and purrs just looking at me. He tried to get in the bathroom when I’m in there. He sleeps on my pillow all day and is next to me all evening. He sits with me as I prepare dinner.
I love him even more than he loves me. We’re soulmates!!

Cruiser11 · 14/10/2021 22:25

I’m loving hearing about the cats who go for walks with their human mums.

Xmasbaby11 · 14/10/2021 22:28

No mine is not bothered. I adore her but she's mostly happiest alone looking the other way, and pretends to be asleep when I come looking for her. She sits on my lap every evening for up to an hour, but that's it.

It breaks my heart!

FatAnkles · 14/10/2021 22:29

She brrps, meows etc. Every Morning I get a hello. I think she does love me, but with Terms and Conditions attached. 😹

Pythonista · 14/10/2021 22:31

My cat loves my dad more than me. On the plus side, one of my parents' cats loves me more than either of them Grin

Pythonista · 14/10/2021 22:32

We have a funny one who pretends she hates everyone but the minute you pick her up , she snuggles in and purrs Grin

thefirstmrsrochester · 14/10/2021 22:37

My cat hates me when I don’t let her back out the house after midnight. The look on her face. She loves me at 5am every bloody morning when she jumps on my bed looking for attention/food/to be let out.

Do you think your cat likes you?
Greyeverywhere · 14/10/2021 22:39

One of mine loves me, always wants to sit on my lap and then drools on me.
The other will give me blinks/kisses from afar and purr but will bite if you stroke her for more than 30 seconds Hmm

KeyLimePies · 14/10/2021 23:01

@Idontlike

My cat adores me. Mine is the only lap she sits on. I am the chosen one Smile

She’s a real scaredy-cat. I adopted her and don’t think she was well treated before I got her, she lived with a man. She darts away from most people, she tolerates DH but if teen tries to stroke her she runs.

My story is very similar to yours @Idontlike. My cat adores me, but it took a good 2 years or so for him to really trust me. He doesn’t like other people and is especially nervous of men.

He gives me I ❤️ signs

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/10/2021 00:48

Sometimes when I am petting her she looks up at me, gives a little chirrup, then stretches up to boop my nose. I’m off this week and have wakened up every day to find her snuggled in to my knees after DP’s given her breakfast - usually she would be out then. So I think she does!

Mabelface · 15/10/2021 01:14

Mine does! I'm the only lap he sits on. When I go out, I walk through a churchyard at the back of me, and he escorts me there and waits for me to come back. When he comes in, he jumps on the arm of the sofa and rubs his cheek against mine in greeting.

Pythonista · 15/10/2021 01:29

Oh and our Burmese boy bites me - that's how I know he loves me.

I am a member of a few Burmese FB groups and you always get newbies asking whether it's Grinnormal for their Burm to nip them
