How long do the batteries last in your cat flap?

ChampagneCat has a SureFlap that works off the Wi-Fi, it cost £160 is very useful for setting curfews and telling where she is and when.

The thing is it burns through 4 x AA batteries about every 6-8 weeks. I'm sure this can't be right!

We have a Sureflap with no wifi, the batteries last a year.

I have a sureflap and it makes a huge difference if the sensors get dirty. I clean them out with a cotton bud every so often as they get full of fur.

Looks like I'll be cleaning the sensors when I get home
