The best cat flap

It’s getting too cold to leave the window open.

Please advise me on cat flaps. Do you have a programmable one? The kind that reads your cat’s microchip?

Is it any good? Reliable? Worth it?

We have a sureflap microchip flap. Works well. You can also get a more expensive one that has an app too

Sureflap is meant to be good. We have the more expensive Pet Porte and although it does the job we are on the fifth one and our cat is 14.

Started with the sureflap microchip, was happy with it but I work and also go out and wanted to keep the cats in over night so upgraded to the sureflap hub with the app- I love it! Can set the flap to lick / unlock at certain times and change it remotely via the app, can set it so one cat can't get out but the other can etc etc

Lock, a cat flap that can lick would be a strange thing!

We have the expensive sure flap with hub. Slightly over engineered I think....but I still love checking the app. We have had it 6 months and are on the second set of batteries but it's just told me they are low again after only a few weeks.....
