Our cat is only 18 months old and he's very lively to say the least. We did partly get him to make sure there were no rodents in the house but his favourite thing to kill is birds. He has a collar with a bell on which worked for a week but then he brought in 2 dead birds in less than 24 hours.
He's not a big cat but even kills pigeons and likes to hide them. He doesn't have the run of the house for this reason. He does have a flap and at the moment I'm considering locking him out even though that seems cruel but the hiding (and clean up) of headless pigeons is disgusting. Any ideas?
He gets playtime and fed a lot but his favourite is the cheapest of the cheap so maybe there's not enough protein although tbh I don't see how that will stop his killer urge.
