Maybe have a look at Bought by Many

Northernlurker · 27/09/2021 22:10

Petplan are good as long as you maintain cover

TheDogsMother · 27/09/2021 22:11

How adorable 💕. Yes personally I would stay with PetPlan. I've had three cats and a dog insured with them and found them to be reasonably priced and fair on claims.

Sleepinghyena · 27/09/2021 22:11

I stayed with Petplan after receiving the 4 weeks free cover from the breeder. They paid out £3600 in the first year. Only thing is, they don't cover special food, even if recommended by the vet. And I'm pretty sure there's restrictions on dental too.

dementedpixie · 27/09/2021 22:12

I found Petplan expensive compared to BBM and BBM offered better cover for less.

BeaucoupFish · 27/09/2021 22:12

He’s so gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️

KnittingNurse · 27/09/2021 22:23

Tesco have been fab with my Persians.

ozymandiusking · 27/09/2021 22:30

He is gorgeous. Do you mind telling us what his name is going to be?

Hippopotas · 27/09/2021 22:42

Oooh he’s so handsome

I'm not sure yet, I'm terrible at thinking up names!

Thanks everyone, Think I will stick with petplan

Animal friends. Cheaper than most and all profits go to,animal charities.
We've been with them for years and they are excellent

MrsCatE · 28/09/2021 05:24

There was a poster here whose kids named their new kitten ‘Graeme’; because it was grey . . . That did make chuckle.

Allergictoironing · 28/09/2021 08:08

Just remember whoever you go with to choose the (more expensive) lifetime cover. That means if he has an accident or illness that needs long term or permanent treatment, the costs are still covered rather than ending at the end of that insurance year.

When you have to pay £40-50 a month on drugs for life, that is really worth the extra premium!

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 28/09/2021 15:38

Oh, he's a cutie!

CrystalMaisie · 02/10/2021 17:04

My friend has a blue boy, called Rocky.

PlinkPlankPlunk · 02/10/2021 17:10

Oh gosh he’s lovely!

I use John Lewis for insurance which is fine but I really just wanted to say what a little teddy bear he is Grin

IAmSantaOhYesIAm · 02/10/2021 17:12

I have a British cream, insured with petplan who I’ve found to be ok.
You blue boy is gorgeous - let us know his name when you’ve chosen!

ItsSnowJokes · 02/10/2021 17:13

We have a 13 week old kitten and we went with Bought By Many. The cover for life is great, not a massive excess £95 a year no matter how many claims and the service just seems great. Haven't had to claim yet thank god, so can't comment on how quickly the reimburse claims.

TheLongRider · 02/10/2021 21:19

I can't advise on insurance as I'm not in the UK but cat names are more fun than baby names.

Does he need an old-fashioned aristocratic name such as:

Percival/Percy
Reginald/Reggie
Montgomery/Monty
Arthur/Artie
Earl (Grey!)
Lancelot

Is he really just a local lad -
Dave
Albert
Freddie
Robbie
Mikey

Romantic names
Zephyr
Zeus
Grimalkin
Quartz
Smokey
Pushkin
Petruska
Severus
Gandalf
Greyson
Greystoke
Ghost

As a vet who processes lots of claims this is the most common company to refuse a claim, they also have so truly awful policies that pay out tiny portion of a claim. They are a company I always warn people against insuring with. My own pets are with BBM.
Madwife123 · 03/10/2021 12:14

I had a really bad experience with bought my many and since then will only ever use Petplan. You get what you pay for!

dementedpixie · 03/10/2021 12:15

Conversely I had a very good experience with BBM
