Will they find the litter tray?!

Just had a new kitchen. The tray has moved. Please tell me they'll find it!

Yes - I've moved house with cats three times and they have always found it. 'Show' it to them if you like, but it's probably not necessary.

If someone did a surprise remodel of your house while you were away and moved the loo, you'd find it Grin.

Would love pics of the Toddler girls in their new kitchen!

Magic was trying to help earlier. Missed getting a picture of her in the cupboard!

I've shoved Cheddar in it, so hopefully she's got the idea.

Ha ha at the 'help'. 'Never mind all this cleaning stuff - where's the cat food?'

if I have a new tray or relocate one they always seem to find it, we're in the middle of moving and the one behind the sofa in the dining room is being ignored as the sitting room has been packed up into storage, so it's less private.

I put one in the corner of the empty sitting room as an extra and they have been using it happily.

If I want to put in a new one, and remove one I tend to put less (moving down to no) litter in the one I want to get rid of leave it in the same place, just in case.
Then keep an eye on the new one, to make sure it's always pristine, with lots of lovely litter in so they can get a proper dig and not get their precious toe beans wet.

Once the original has been ignored for a week or two it's out!

Their food was returned to its rightful place ASAP!

Yay! That rare experience of being pleased to see a cat poo.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2021 18:17

Yes. Though I accidentally bought the wrong litter. So cleaning it was not as easy!

Was chatting to my friend about trying to figure out my new oven. S as bd he's asked if I'd tried grilling cheddar on toast yet. 😱😱😱

Well done. Moved ours today from the utility room to the carport, so they have to leave through the catflap. Fingers crossed!

They are such clever cats.

You were going to get a special spot for the litter tray weren't you? Did you have a cupboard with no door or something? Or have I got my posters confused? I do remember a long discussion with someone else about litter trays in the kitchen.....(which I have).

Toddlerteaplease · 29/09/2021 14:14

@Mumdiva99 I did plan the whole kitchen around the litter tray yes. It's underneath the breakfast bar. And had a larder cupboard fitted so I could store their big containers of food and litter. It's worked out really well.

@toddlerteaplease we need a post about your cat kitchen with pictures please. (Or does it already exist?)

Notdoingthis · 30/09/2021 22:21

Toddlerteaplease · 01/10/2021 12:07

@notdoingthis was it raining? I would guess it was too cold for them to venture outside..... you know how precious cats are.

Notdoingthis · 01/10/2021 17:59

Ah yes I wondered if it was too cold or dark. No more poos inside so far. Rain shouldn't matter. The catflap goes directly to the covered carport.
