Missing cat!

My 6 month old cat has gone missing for 2, almost 3, days! She has only been outside one time for 4 hours, now being her second. But this time she's out and I'm starting to lose hope of her coming back ☹️

I've put her litter tray and food outside but at night the fox eat her food. I've went out looking for her, put missing posters up and talked to my neighbours around the block.

I'm thinking, will she know how to get home? What else can I do? And is this normal for "indoor" cats to be out this long?

Are there any local FB groups you could put a post on? Put something that smells of you outside as well (T-shirt/jumper). Go out late evening and walk around calling her. Is she chipped? Contact local vets and shelters to let them know.

Thanks for the helpful reply! I've just put my blanket and the suitcase that she always sleeps on outside hopefully she smells it and comes home soon.

Unfortunately she isn't microchipped yet, she had an appointment to get her neutered and microchipped yesterday.

Go out at night when it's dark/quiet. Take a torch and gently call her name. They tend to come out of hiding at night and she's probably not that far away. They are usually in the area just lost. Just keep looking for her , you are doing all the right things , could she be going into season?

Yes she was in heat I believe the week before last week but she eventually calmed down so I assume she's fine now. I will be looking for her tonight and see what happens.

She could well have come back into heat, Facebook and missing pet websites are good to post on, also leaflet neighbours so that they can check sheds and garages, not everyone has facebook.

Once she's home she really needs neutering asap in case she's been caught.

I hope she returns soon for you.

UPDATE!!! Shes finally back home! One of my neighbours called me saying that they found her in their bushes and I managed to lure her out with food! Thank you for all your kind tips ❤️

WHOOOOOOOP! I'm so happy for you! What great news! I run a cat charity in France. You'd think I'd be numb to this kind of situation by now, but I'm still a big worrier! I'm really pleased. Poor little love was probably scared. She might have some little buns in the oven, so I'd get her spayed asap. They have no idea how much trouble they cause us! :-)

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/09/2021 21:06

You'll need to neuter her asap, she's probably mated and they can ovulate after mating to ensure conception. She's far too young to go through a pregnancy as it will stunt her growth. It's like us having a baby at 14.

That's brilliant news, delighted for you. How long is she groundedGrin for?
